Dwight Morrison is a dynamic motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and resilience expert whose life is a testament to the power of perseverance and purpose. He is the CEO and co-founder of PS Remember, a groundbreaking social media platform that connects students and alumni in over 147 countries.
Born in Jamaica and adopted into a new life in Canada at the age of eleven, Dwight’s early years were marked by uncertainty and a lack of family stability. His adopted mother, Jenes Morrison, passed away when Dwight was just thirteen, leaving him alone and without a family. Soon after, he was placed into the foster care system, where he faced years of emotional instability, and neglect.
In his youth, feeling abandoned and searching for belonging, Dwight found himself drawn into the wrong crowd—a decision that led him down a path of poor choices and confusion. Without the guidance of a strong, supportive family, he struggled to find his way and to build a sense of identity. However, despite the challenges, Dwight eventually realized that his past and circumstances did not define his future. With time, he made the conscious decision to break free from negative influences, rebuild his life, and find purpose.
A transformative moment came in 2007, when he traveled to Africa to volunteer in refugee camps in Burundi, Rwanda, and Kenya. There, he connected with children displaced by war, many of whom were orphaned and searching for belonging. The resilience of these young survivors profoundly impacted him. Working in the camps not only deepened Dwight’s understanding of his own childhood but also ignited a passion to make a difference in the lives of young people facing adversity. On his last night in Burundi, a life-changing dinner with the President of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza, reinforced his belief that leadership is about service, resilience, and using one’s experiences to inspire positive change.
Today, Dwight is an internationally recognized leader and speaker who empowers individuals and organizations to embrace their potential and turn adversity into opportunity. He is the co-founder of PS Remember, a social platform dedicated to fostering personal growth and educational opportunities for students in over 147 countries. Through his work with PS Remember, Dwight continues to inspire and mentor the next generation, encouraging young people to pursue their dreams regardless of their challenges.
Dwight’s journey has been featured in national and international publications such as Forbes and Black Enterprise, and he has shared his story on CBS television. He is widely recognized for his dedication to mentoring youth, especially those who, like him, have faced hardship or trauma. His story of transformation, from a troubled youth to a respected leader and change-maker, serves as a powerful reminder that with resilience, perseverance, and the right support, anyone can overcome their past and create a better future.
In 2021, Dwight and his wife, Angelique, faced an unimaginable tragedy with the sudden loss of their eight-year-old daughter, Trinity Jenes Morrison. This devastating moment, however, has only strengthened Dwight’s resolve to honor his family’s memory and create a lasting legacy of love, perseverance, and positive change. While grieving the loss of Trinity, Dwight remains steadfast in his commitment to his family, his community, and his mission to inspire others to rise above life’s greatest challenges.
As a motivational speaker, Dwight’s compelling story of resilience, transformation, and leadership inspires audiences to overcome their own challenges, make positive choices, and embrace their power to shape their futures. Whether speaking to youth groups, corporate teams, or educational institutions, Dwight’s message resonates deeply with anyone facing adversity or striving to make a difference.
